Sandra Heider, MA, MA, is a registered Senior Yoga Teacher with the UK Yoga Alliance. She founded Equilibrium Yoga and Well-Being Centres in Peterborough and Huntingdon (UK) and together with her husband Brian Robinson she owns and manages both yoga studios. She has been practising yoga since 1999 and has been teaching since 2005 when she qualified as a 200 hour Yoga Teacher. Sandra initially practised and studied Ashtanga Yoga, but moved into Jivamukti and Forrest yoga in 2006 when she did her first teacher training with Ana Forrest. She completed the Jivamukti Yoga teacher training and the Forrest Yoga Foundation training in 2007. Sandra is a certified Forrest Yoga Teacher and a Forrest Yoga Guardian and has run programmes in English and German for Forrest Yoga teachers in the UK, Europe and South Africa. Since 2009 she has been assisting Ana Forrest throughout Europe.
In June 2014, Sandra completed her 5 year long studies in body psychotherapy at CBPC in Cambridge (UK). Yoga and in particular Forrest Yoga in conjunction with Psychotherapy has helped her with dealing with the consequences of her own personal struggle during her teenage years, including eating disorders and feelings of not belonging and of not being good enough. Her interest lies in finding the integration between spirituality, psychotherapy and physical practices. At the heart of her teachings lies the assumption that we need to return to our bodies and to feeling in order to experience peace, acceptance and self-love, which in turn will lay the foundation for genuine relationships with other people.
